Weddings & Elopements

Bilal Photos first batch-39.jpg

Intimate elopements and adventure weddings are seriously the best kind of weddings. No giant guest lists, no wedding planning headaches and no jaw dropping bills to pay off for the next 70 years. Just you and the person you love most in the world, making vows together. (Oh and maybe me, quietly sobbing in the distance).

The other great thing about small elopement ceremonies is that we can do them literally anywhere! (This is when intimate elopements become adventure elopements).

If you’re up for a challenge (hiking to a mountaintop, snowshoeing, helicoptering, skiing, wading etc.), you can bet I’ll be right there with you with my camera. Check out the packages below, get in touch and we’ll plan out the perfect place to elope.

FAQ’s

I’m not really familiar with the area, can you help me pick out the perfect location?

Yes, whether you’re looking for a hotel venue, a meadow with a view, an epic mountaintop to exchange your vows or something completely different, I have a ton of experience in the Rockies and would love to give you a few suggestions and recommendations for the perfect location.

Possible locations include, but aren’t limited to the following: Banff, Kananaskis, the Icefields Parkway, Jasper , Yoho, Kootenays, or anywhere in the Bow Valley. I can even help you put together a heli wedding deep in the Canadian wilderness.

And if you want me to help you shoot somewhere else in the world, I’ll work really hard to figure out the perfect places in your ideal destination. Half the fun for me is digging around and finding amazing new spots for a photoshoot!

How does the Adventure Elopement work?

While there are officiants and witnesses that are happy to hike up mountains with us, this typically makes planning harder and makes it more expensive. If that’s important to you then it’s no problem to plan that way, and I can help arrange that for you.

However, the simplest way to do it is to do an intimate vow exchange on the mountain (or your chosen location) with just the three of us present, and then head back to civilisation to get legally married afterwards.

Can you help me find an officiant?

Yes, and typically you can expect to pay around $300-400 CAD extra for an officiant, plus travel time (which can be quite a lot if you’re hiking)

How many photos can I expect?

Typically I don’t like to promise a certain amount of photos as I believe it’s better to offer better quality over quantity. With that being said, it’s normal to expect around 50 photos per hour.

What if there’s bad weather on the day?

Generally speaking, it’s generally up to the wedding co-ordinator to make sure there’s a plan for bad weather (i.e. umbrellas/moving the ceremony indoors). I’m prepared to work in any weather conditions, so you don’t have to worry about me!

With adventure elopements, if there are higher altitudes involved (i.e mountain top elopements, flying etc), we may be forced to make a last minute postponement as a safety precaution. In which case, we’ll work together to find the next date that works for both of us!

What do I have to do to book a wedding date with you?

I require a 30% retainer and a signed contract at the time of booking to secure your date.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Please click here to read our full cancellation/refund policy that is now fully updated to include cancellations/reschedulings as a result of COVID.

What if I only want 4 hours of coverage or a custom amount?

I’m always happy to give you a custom quote if you need me for a shorter shoot or have a different vision in mind! The packages above are just the shoots I find people typically look for, but I’m open to absolutely anything!

Do you bring a second shooter?

I don’t typically think a second shooter is necessary unless the number of guests are upwards of 150. It’s good to have two shooters when there’s a large venue and too much ground for one person to cover OR when you simply want absolutely every moment captured from every angle. Second shooters are an additional fee.

Do I get a discount if I don’t want an engagement shoot?

The free engagement shoot is included at a discounted rate because you’re also booking a wedding. Therefore if you choose to not include the engagement shoot, I can give you a $250 discount from the list price.

How long until I can expect my pictures?

You can expect to receive your wedding photos within 90 days (or 3 months). I will upload them on a gallery website online where you can download them in hi-resolution.
